Hayden won his first SBK race this weekend at Sepang. Race 2 was wet and Nicky took the lead early, built a 3 second lead by mid-race. Giugliano passed Rea for 2nd late in the race and cut Hayden's to just over a second but it was too late to catch Nicky and he cruised to his first win. Congrats Nicky.

Congrats Nicky. Nice to see him in a format where he can be competitive
Yes, good to see Hayden had a win. He got away from the chasers by about 2secs leaving Rea to battle it out with the Ducatis. The track was very wet and Hayden got clear of the spray. The last three laps were a real to and fro between both the Dukes and Rea. Both Dukes got out ahead of Rea with Rea giving it back to them but coming in third behind Guigliano and ahead of Davies. I was especially pleased to see Ant West pick up fourth.

Seeing Hayden on a SBK and those Ducatis took me back to MotoGP 2006 when Hayden and Rossi were trading pleasantries and particularly to Valencia where Troy Bayliss, given a "thank you" ride by Ducati with Gibernau injured, as the reigning WSBK Champion pulled of a MotoGP win.

Cheers
