Well, things getting tougher around the world. Malaysia will go into restricted movement tomorrow. It will be no riding season for sometimes...

I'll simply echo Cormanus' words as he surely put it far more clearly and eloquently than I would have.

like Alprider I am still taking my daily rides. Social distancing at it's best. I am not coming in contact with anyone. So far I have taken no extra precautions when pumping gas, but now I intend to pack disposable gloves in my tank bags so that I can safely handle gas pumps, without fear of contamination.

I finally feel somewhat well enough to ride after two weeks on the road, a week on the couch, and a few days zombie-ing around the office, with Clorox wipes in each hand, getting the well advised cold shoulder from coworkers as I shamble from my desk to my isolated shop area where I can be by myself and cough into my elbow at my whim. Now, just need a day where both the air and the roads are dry enough. Don't need any added weather distractions as I regain my riding legs. My only ride recently was to limp my wounded Triumph to the shop for repairs while dodging raindrops, and that wasn't much fun.

Looks like a gorgeous day in Orange County this morning. If only it hadn't rained all night.

Addendum - I pass a hospital near my house on the way to work. This morning, there was a large tent set up in the parking lot, with an access lane to it designated by traffic cones. It appears to be a drive-up Corona testing center.

As long they don't hand you a cup through the window and say, " ... while we're at it, please provide a sample."

Ya know, Gold, in my trucker days, I would have been able to comply with that sample request. Always kept an empty bottle in the cab...

We are pretty much confined at home, and I am working from since a week now. The weather is magnificent, and since the borders closed last night, there is very little traffic. So, it is extremely tempting to go riding.

However, I think I will stay home or maybe take some walks in the forest around here. The thing is, riding a bike does create a risk for an accident, and this is really no time to take up additional space at a hospital.

So, yes it is tempting, and yes you will not catch covid-19 riding, but you may end up making things more complicated for those trying to treat the sick.

In terms of social responsibility Henrik, agreed.

However, I can't say I ever thought of not going for a ride because it was risky. That thought just doesn't equate in my mind unless there is ice on the road.
