Cycle gear is mostly crap. Some stuff is o.k. Most of staff is clueless. Good for oil, filters and cleaning supplies. Bought the wife a jacket knowing she will only wear it 3 to 4 times a year with me. K mart quality. Too bad, I really liked revzilla. Hope nothing changes.

After reading the article sounds like revzilla will remain unchanged. If anything it might make cycle gear a little better.

In defense of our local Cycle Gear store, the folks that work there are bright, informed and eager to please. I don't buy their branded stuff, but have gotten some very nice name brand pieces. And they are the only game in town for many small items. They have a no questions return policy that they honor. I love RevZilla and don't want them to change, but I am also really glad we have Cycle Gear so I don't have to deal with our local dealers for anything.

In defense of our local Cycle Gear stores, 3 of them, equidistant in different directions, are the only brick and mortar MC stores that we have other than dealerships and Twisted Throttle. Good sales off-season and the couple that I have been to looking at helmets had knowledgeable sales people, helmet wise. I find Revzilla to be the best and hope they don't change.

They guys at Revzilla released a statement to clarify and put people's worries at ease. Essentially, they formed a shell company with the recently new owner of CycleGear to pool resources etc etc. long story short, they're not changing anything and their identities are staying exactly the same.

I'm glad you guys had some good experiences at cycle gear. Don't get me wrong, they are very pleasant and nice but in my local CG they are having a tough time retaining anyone with knowledge. We get more of a minimum wage type crew there. One guy knew his stuff but left for another store. Maybe because I have a lot of experience I look at things differently but the ones that actually do ride and work there are somewhat new to the sport themselves I've actually helped some of their customers for them. I find their top name gear is very expensive compared to online. And the store brand is very generic like the stuff from leather up . com

I would never buy one of their helmets at CG. They do have top brands like shoei and aria but nothing in the middle like HJC or scorpion

I totally got what you were saying and educated help is hard to find at minimum wage. My excitement of going into a brick and mortar was being able to touch gear and try it on without having to have it shipped to my house first. I paid little attention to the young kid that was trying his best to sell me a helmet, other than to have him search sizes for me....saved me from having to take my glasses on and off.

Cycle Gear is OK if you know your prices and know what you are looking for. My wife bought me a GO PRO there for Christmas a few years ago on sale for 199.00. She said they were much higher everywhere else at the time.
