For the older Forum members interested in Road Racing it is sad to see two more racers recently died . Wes Cooley , only 65 years old and from the UK Paul Smart , he was 78 and died in a motor cycle accident on the road in the South East of England.
Wes died of complications from diabetes. When you realize that your hero's from years ago are no longer with us than you realize how precious time is .
The older we get, the more dead people we know/knew.

I was fortunate to have Paul and Maggie Smart as house guests for a weekend when he came to USA as the the featured guest at the Barber Vintage Festival. They were delightful guests. While he was here, we rounded up several Ducati Paul Smart Replica's and he autographed them. He also autographed my Norton. I remember having a conversation with him about the Isle Of Mann races. Asked him what his best finish was. His response was priceless. He said that he had raced there 7 times and succeeded in crashing or breaking every time.
