Like GO though, I don't care about cars much. My Honda truck is 12 years old and only has 63,000 miles on it. It mostly sits. Since my wife gave up riding last year, she ordered a new 2022 Mustang to get her kicks from. I wanted her to get a Fastback but her heart was set on a convertible, so of course we get the convertible in "Race Red"... supposed to be coming some time in February. That looks more like "Arrest me Red."
I'll still prefer riding my red CB1100 or red NC 750

Next year my Ford Runabout will be 100 years old. I drive it frequently. Lots of fun. I doubt I'll look this good in 20 years.

That crazy desert backdrop again. Like it. But it "looks" fake.
Nice classic Ford specimen.

Thanks GO. I hadn't noticed, but now that you mention it, it does look fake. That is a parking lot near my house at a library at the White Tank Mountains Regional Park. Beautiful place with lots of saguaro near the parking lot that make a nice place to photograph my bikes and Model T Ford.

That is a cool pic of the A, and yes the backdrop looks photoshopped lol
Highly unlikely my wife's Ford will still be on the road in 100 years (for one thing there won't be any place to get fuel) but you never know.

Cool - really.
I've been to Arizona enough times that I lost count and in the desert every time. The wonder of the deep AZ desert does that to the eyes/mind too. Everything looks like a painting - it blows the mind. I just wanted to ensure whether that was in fact what was happening in the photo too.
Arizona desert is sooo powerful to the psyche and perception.

I think if there was one car currently available that I would threaten physical harm to someone to own, it would be a 50th Anniversary Hemi Challenger in B5 blue.
Congratulations, that is one sweet ride.

Actually, there's a good argument that it doesn't belong anywhere on the forum; however, because the OP linked it to delays in his DLX restoration project, I'll let it past.
PS....I think this is not the first 4 wheeler in a post. Thanks Head Forum dudes!

Just don't go all Walter White (aka Heisenburg) with yours. Wouldn't want that pretty sled to end up as his did.

I had not thought of it that way, but my bikes are retro, now so is my car. What is it that keeps taking us into the past, especially on the Honda CB1100, and secondly, the Challenger RT looks like 1970 all over again, freaky!

Classic designs stand the test of time.

Ferret, congrats on the new Mustang. I'm sure you're anxious to get your hands on it! This is the only period in my life where I don't own a Mustang. I miss having one dearly, but have looked at my garage many times. With a little Fiesta ST, I have more room in the garage for bikes, and I hardly drove my last Mustang... sold it at 12 years with 30k miles on it.
The Petersen Museum used to host panel discussions with automotive influencers. I attended them whenever I could. They did a design series, and the first panel was comprised of current designers - Ford, GM, and a few other brands. They explained the popularity of retro designs - the Mini, Beetle, Mustang, Challenger, etc very logically. People who bought these cars when they were current in the 60s and 70s when they were young, could now relive their youth in a vehicle that evoked the past, but was just as modern as any other car on the road.
The following week, the panel was comprised of retired designers who had worked during the 60s and 70s at Ford, GM, etc. I asked them what they thought about the trend toward retro vehicles. The answers sort of surprised me - I had touched a nerve... They called the new designers lazy, simply having taken their '60s designs and modernized them to meet DOT and aerodynamic standards. One of them said "Which one is gonna be next? Are they gonna take a boxy '70s Volvo wagon and make a retro version of that? Where is this going to stop?"
Looking at the Challenger in particular, it's been in the market since 2008 with the same body shell. Yet it still sells very well. Stylistically, it really can't change much... it's a modern version of a car that only existed for five years, in one body style. But man do I want one.
I'm glad the retro trend didn't stop before the CB1100, the New Bonneville, and the other retro bikes that still look great today.
