I just discovered this video:
Me for myself enjoy the dynamics and timing of the ride while moving along the roads. I like discovering new roads and places, being mobile in a different way to a car, smelling the changes in the air, feeling the elements and the power of the machine.
Why do you ride?
For me, it is the hope to record and reinforce the motion resonance in my bones and fabric-being so I shall never forget the freedom and feeling after I stop riding.
For example:
I have not forgotten how it feels to ride the 2014 Honda CB1100 even after all these years. This also includes the 2018 NC750X and all the way back to that intrepid 1976 Yamaha RD400.
I don’t have to sit in traffic.
I wish I had a more romantic or inspirational answer.
Just really hate traffic.

Why?... makes me feel like I'm flying like a bird, or maybe swimming like a dolphin. Motorcycles have a mechanical simplicity that a non-mechanical person like myself can understand to a degree. It's an economical way to explore beautiful areas whether near or far. The feeling of being exposed to the elements, combined with the solitude of a lonely road...and only my own thoughts to keep me company.
The open air, accelerating and leaning is what appeals to me. Like flying in a plane with no canopy.
I ride for the feeling of simultaneous control and chaos. Operating a mechanical beast that you control through time and space that you can never fully control, gets my blood pumping. Both hands and both feet have a purpose and a job to do. Eyes scanning and assessing constantly. Your body making minor adjustments in riding position, leans, etc. It's a full body and mind experience that you can't find hardly anywhere else.

In a car you're always in a compartment, and because you're used to it you don't realize that through that car window everything you see is just more TV. You're a passive observer and it is all moving by you boringly in a frame.
On a cycle the frame is gone. You're completely in contact with it all. You're in the scene, not just watching it anymore, and the sense of presence is overwhelming.
