Found this vid of a Japanese race bike using our beloved CB with a different set of clothes on being raced in anger at some Japanese race circuit.
Disguised as an '83 CB1100R.

OR IS IT??

Could this be an original period cb from the early 80's??
I know it has carbs but the swing arm looks like the one on my RS.
Comments please....
Looks fantastic!! would love to see this live!

Enjoy!!

Good find JTB
That is a CB1100R from the early 80's- not our bike.
Interestingly I did not see a fork brace installed. If a brace REALLY made a difference you would think a bike which competes at this level of racing would have one.
Found a nice piece of the history of the 1981 CB1100 R..

My mate bought one of these early first models of which his had been raced in the Pro- Am MCN UK championship..When he bought it it was pretty tired having been abused by all for its entire life. The dealer foolish agreed to a service before sale and when the service guys finished with the parts list it turned out to be a full rebuild with all the parts being HRC special race bits!!
Cost the dealer an absolute fortune so my mate got a totally refreshed engine from the workshop who incidentally looked quite a lot of local race teams at the time.
I didn't know that Honda only ever made 110 tho..bet he wishes he still owned now!!
They're worth a fortune!!
