Happy Birthday, A-Man!

Thanks guys, another trip around the sun completed. I distinctly remember this day exactly 50 years ago. I was hanging out in my dorm room, waiting for Fall classes to begin. I celebrated with Andre Pink Champagne and several close friends, including my high school crush. If, on that day, my 19-year old self had predicted that 50 years in the future one of my greatest joys would be to still be riding Honda CB motorcycles, and hanging out with my riding buddies, I would have thought him to be crazy. I can't imagine how my mind would have been blown if he'd accurately predicted that I'd still be hanging out with my high school crush!

Truer words were never spoken. Fifty years ago I was teaching Public Health and Psychiatric Nursing at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. We lived in the small cross-roads of Tuckasegee. It was a beautiful time in a beautiful place. It only seems like yesterday. The end of the road isn't far and I'm in no hurry to get there.
