A sizable multiple bike discount is reflected in that price. I switched to Foremost 2 years ago when I discovered that their policy was 60% less than my Progressive policy. I live in south central Florida if that makes a difference. Might be worth checking out foremost.
Holy crap man, thats cheap!

I also have Foremost (Farmers) and found them to be the cheapiest I could find.
The closest bike I can think of would be the Kawasaki Zephyr 1000. Very similar.

6 month or full year policy?
Gentlemen,
I have all of my motorcycles and most of my cars insured with Allstate. On my bikes I have liability insurance only (2 million dollars) and adding the CB to my policy only added $36 to my annual premium. So cheap it's almost free. Yeah it would be more if it was the only vehicle I had insured with them but it's still a great deal. I'm not sure how much they would charge to cover the bike for damage or theft.

Being that I'm a CA transplant and a former Illinoian I get the fact that your riding season isn't all that long and that's part of the reason it's so cheap for you.
It was a lot cheaper for me when I was back there. But here, because we can ride all year round (mostly) it costs more.....blah.
I paid $75 for a full year on insurance. It was just liability though. Full coverage was $385 for a full year. I have Dairyland motorcycle insurance.
When I contacted GEICO, they quoted almost $3k a year. They thought it was a supersport. I spoke to the supervisor and asked her to look up the bike on the Honda site. She did, and then re-quoted it at $257 for the year.
Talk to your agent and make sure they classify the bike in the "cruiser" price range.
