Yesterday was the annual Black Dog Ride with a series of one-day rides all over Australia. The Black Dog Ride raises money for mental health services. More information at http://www.blackdogride.com.au/
As it was a good cause and I like a ride, I figured to go along. It was a good, hot Queensland day and the rain held off, although we need it so badly it would have been kind of welcome. There were plenty of bikes and the ride kicked off at the Ettamogah Pub and followed an agreeable route with some freeway (very little), hills, twisties, and flat country roads, many of which I've written about before.
On the way out to our turning point at Kilcoy, I followed a very nice looking 1977 Goldwing, although I didn't know what it was until I got home and hunted around on the net for it. It looked like the one here, [url=http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/found-on-ebay-gold-wing.aspx#axzz2wpWhw614.]http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/found-on-ebay-gold-wing.aspx#axzz2wpWhw614. At a moment when I could try to take a picture of it, I couldn't find it.
Anyway, for those who like the pictures, here are some.
This is the Ettamogah Pub. Its weird design is based on a regular comic in a magazine, the name of which I can't remember. The comic ran forever and the pub became iconic.
Good looking Vincent
That's the Goldwing in front of me
Hard to see, but that's the police on the other side of the road checking us out. There's a war on bikie gangs in Queensland at the moment, but that's another story.

. When I was young girls didn't ride solo much and they certainly didn't look cool like that.
