At last, after three months, "Back in the Saddle Again" (thank you Gene). A quick groupie out of Sydney to Windsor then Wisemans Ferry and along the Hawkesbury River to Spencer's Village for lunch. Please, don't ask - after fried cheesecake, double beef burgers and Country Inn pies etc anything we eat in this country has got to be ordinary! After lunch a ride up to Peats Ridge for a run down the Old Pacific Highway and then home. 258kms in total. The picture quality is variable but it did happen.

I had a really good day. Two mates, one on a Triumph Striple, the other on a GSX 1400, led the way and the good lines soon came back to me. Not much in the way of chicken strips at the end of the day. This was my first ride with the Staintune and the Dart screen. The Staintune is good motorcycle opera. The Dart, which surprised me after some posts on this forum, also behaved as well as could be expected from a small unit. At speeds from 80kph up to 125kph there was a pressure wave across the upper chest to neck level with helmet noise not affected. To test this I just stood on the pegs and leaned over the bars with minimal difference to noise levels (maybe that's a credit to the Bose NC rather than the screen). With hands off the bars there was no steering wobble. On my next ride (see below), I will give it a good workout at all speeds just in case my judgement was impaired by the joy of riding again. It looks like a keeper, at this stage at least.

It's 1,800 kms to get there from here, better than 2,000 if I come via Sydney. I've probably left it a bit late to get my act together. But I'll think on it. Might not get a leave pass with such short notice and with a couple of other things going on.

Give it some thought. I could meet you Thursday evening at Rankin Springs.

Camping at Mildura, but up to you on the way. Maybe meet at Narrabri on Wed evening?

That's a great feeling to get back out there. Almost worth the trouble of getting busted up. Almost....
