Son called last night and asked if I wanted to join he, an old high school buddy and his father on a ride in N Ky today. Weather terrorist says 20 percent chance of rain. I check the radar before I leave and nothing on radar. I show up at his house in a light drizzle. The high school buddy and his dad were a no show so we went alone.

On the ramp to the Ferry that shuttles us from southern Ohio to Northern Kentucky

we weren't the only ones that fell for the 20% line. This area of Northern Kentucky is a motorcyclist playground. The ferry hauls a lot of bikes on weekends.

We did about 60 miles of curvy road riding at a reduced pace due to the wet roads. This is the same loop I led Empty Sea's group on when they came through back in May.

Leaving Kentucky, headed back to Ohio on the Ferry. It costs $2.00 for the ferry ride each way, or you can drive around and cross on the bridge 20 miles up river. Just about a wash cost wise for 1 gallon of gas if you ride around.

Nice report, Ferret. Pity about the dirt, but it washes off. Hard to own a bike, want to ride it as much as possible and not get it wet. Plus being out with a son who likes riding and has a bike must be great.

Yes, the dreaded rain. Today was the first time my CB has been rained on. Ran into a rain storm while being trailering today.

Yea I don't really worry about the dirt much Cormanus. When you ride everyday you are going to get hot, cold, wet, and dirty at some point.

It is a blessing having a family with so many family members that ride (13 of us).

My son is a real enthusiast. we just ordered tickets to go see the Indianapolis MotoGP tonight. Never seen a race in person before, even though I have been a fan since the mid 60s (before it was MotoGP)

That's exciting about Indianapolis, Ferret. I've not ever been to a MotoGP, or an F1 GP for that matter. But, if all goes according to plan, I'll be riding to Sydney to meet up with Pterodactyl and then ride to the Australian MotoGP at Philip Island in October. To be honest, I'm looking forward to the ride at least as much as the race.

That sounds very cool! I know I would enjoy the watching more on TV as you get to see the whole track and race, see close ups, and replays etc but having never seen how fast or heard how loud, I am anxious to see one in person.

Bring earplugs, glad I did for Austin.
