nice trip and report!
I actually ran on to the grass once while on the Blue Ridge Parkway too, not exactly sure what happened, was on a straight-away, got near the edge and froze because did not want to tip over, went on the grass shoulder for a while than eased my way back on...strange.

Also that is a 13 right? What pipes do you have?
EDIT: OK I'm a big dufus. Talk about open mouth, insert foot.
I wonder what those pipes are?

All is good. Did you find out what kind of pipes they are yet? Randy, your bike is looking good. Glad to see that the 2 of you are up and going again.
Thank you everyone. I really did have a fantastic time. I am looking forward to going next year with the CB forum. I am ready to reserve my stay at the Iron Horse just to seal the deal.
Also ready to start planning another trip - any ideas or suggestions?

The Great River Road along the Mississippi in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. I've only been as far south as about Bettendorf, IA, but there are some great roads all over the area. I think you're near Indy, so I'd do a longish Day1 to get to the Galena area and use that as my base camp for exploring the surrounding area.
ALL of the rides that Ferret mentioned sound awesome, too. If you head up the Wisconsin side of Lake Michigan, let me know and I might be available to ride with you for part of the way.
Happy Trails!
