I'm heading off to Kentucky Motor Speedway from near Evansville, IN!
I plan on riding along IN 66 which follows the Ohio river and stopping at the Overlook Restaurant in Leavenworth, IN
http://www.theoverlook.com/, then to New Albany.
The Overlook to used have fried chicken livers, couldn't stand them as a kid, but I seemed to develop a taste for them in later years.
My daughter and family already have a camper set along the in field to sit on top of for a birds eye view of tonight's race, so I might hit I-71 the rest of the way.
But will probably take the KY side on the way home tomorrow along US 60.
Look forward to a report and pictures offroadfx4. Enjoy the ride.
You're welcome to my share of the chicken livers.

He can have mine too. I don't eat internal organs.

You'll need to edit the comma off the link for it to work...
Hope you have fun - don't forget to take pictures!

I ran out of time to make it to the overlook, but I did discover what I think is southern Indiana's dragon tail....IN 66 from Cannelton, IN to Leavenworth, IN.
I saw probably 50 motorcycles along my ride.

Derby, IN has a very beautiful view of the Ohio River, they also have cabins, etc you can rent there and looks like boat rental....I thought it would be a great place to take the wife some day.

I had to hustle down the interstate to make it to the race, climbed on top of the camper just in time to see the start!
Grand kids, my daughter and an exchange student from another camper.

No Rain...it was a great trip.
The CB performed flawlessly....the only thing was wasn't necessarily a joy was keeping up with traffic on the interstate at 70-80mph...plenty of power, handles fine, but that wind is amazing ;-)
Oh and the air hawk seat cushion did it's best, but I probably just need to lose some weight!
I got to ride part of 66 through Hoosier Forest on our way back from NC this spring. Part of it was flooded out, but it was beautiful. Thanks for the write up and pics and for the tip on the cabins. Could be a good place to stay sometime. Thanks again.

Thanks offroadfx4. Great report. I reckon a lot of the buffeting on freeways comes from the other traffic, particularly large things like trucks and caravans. Not much fun which is why one should travel on back roads wherever possible.
The road you've mapped looks a good ride.
