I'm with you F7....call it "wussification" I guess, but give me a heated cage for those temps!
Its really not bad with the right gear. The first matter of business is keeping the wind off you because the cold air will penetrate nearly any clothing. Once you can shield you body from the wind, then good gear and especially electric can make everything bearable. In my experience, once you get below freezing the shield and electrics are indespensible.
Us Georgia rednecks don't have a whole lot of cold weather gear. You should be on Revzilla's Pro-Staff.

No snowmobiling in Georgia? Lol
Btw over on the ST forum they have a yearly Coldest Ride contest here are some winners and members of the - 0 club. Some pretty tough characters over there. Temp readings have to be taken at least 10 miles from your house.

Yes he is! Very tough.
Believe it or not my brother and I took a short ride Jan 10, 1982 here in Cinti. Outside temp was -9 windchill was -37. It was very, very cold. Hard to breath cold. Our nostrils would freeze shut. No electric gear then. We wore our snowmobile suits, leather mittens, motorcycle boots, balaclavas, full face helmets. Have no desire to repeat that ride.
In my younger, foolish days me and some friends had the bright idea not to let something like a winter get in the way of our tent camping that we enjoyed. We picked Dec 27-31 and a state park/forest. Temps never went above freezing during the day, and were below zero at night. Not one of my better decisions in life. As always, Mother Nature won.
