Glorious day today, sunny mid 60's. Nice to see winter's back has been broken. Had a bit of time before we are to head over to my son's house for Easter dinner so a ride to a nearby lake sounded good. Grabbed a thermos of tea and a granola bar for lunch and took off. It's about 60 miles round trip to the lake. All good roads, lots of curves, little traffic.

At the lake

really starting to green up around here where the sun can get to the ground

Daffodils blooming, a sure sign of spring.

It was a great ride. Happy Easter.
Happy Easter Ferret! Cool weather and a wet snow overnight here. Welcome to Canada...Eh!
Looks like a great Sunday ride and glad the weather is finally getting nice. That "rat" probably got it the night before. I try to avoid night rides around here.
Sounds and looks like you had a beautiful Easter ride. I was able to sneak out too and did a quick ride along the ocean. Gorgeous day today. I stopped at the top of Mt. Soledad where there's a large cross (the subject of much local controversy) and a veterans memorial honoring those who served from all different religions. The view from there is breath taking as it overlooks the Pacific and most of San Diego.

Happy Easter to you Mickey and to all of you who celebrate it. Happy Passover to our Jewish brothers and sisters and Happy Sunday to everyone. Now to give the dog a bath before everyone comes over!

Edit: No forest rats by my place. Plenty of hood rats though.
Mid 60s here, too. 30 mile ride for me, but not as scenic as yours. Great day to be on a motorbike! Happy Easter!
Nice report.

Interesting your comment on the price of petrol. At the moment, in Sydney, we pay AUD1.30 for 1 litre.

1 US gallon = 3.785 litres.

1 US gallon therefore costs 3.785 x 1.3 = AUD4.914

Current exchange rate approx 1AUD to USD.75

therefore, in Sydney, 1US gallon costs USD3.69.

In summary: at $1.99 a gallon you should be so lucky!

Cheers
Sadly, no Easter ride for Cormanus.

Nice report and pictures Ferret. Well done MG and MTC.
Great Ride, Ferret!

I have a tail bag almost identical (got the idea from this forum!) to yours. It looks so comfortable I just wish I could lean back on it from time to time to rest my back. I've tried to stuff the front of mine with clothing and tie it extra tight, but either the clothing compresses or the bag shifts backwards or both so no luck. Too bad, it looks really aerodynamic and just begging to be leaned on.

Can you lean back on yours?
No, my arms are too short.
More great pictures! Thanks for sharing them with us.
