Could be last time this year, hopefully I can get up there again before the snow flies. Had the day off Friday 9/11 so suited up and headed for the hills. Was kind of cold till about noon, but was perfect in the afternoon. Took a ride over Boreas Pass which goes from Breckenridge to the town of Como a few miles NW of Fairplay. First pic is looking back at the ski slopes of Breckenridge (I have lived in Co. since 1964 and never had the desire to try skiing). Boreas Pass road is about 20 mi. of gravel road, pretty smooth for the most part and not too loose. The aspen were starting to change, will look much better next week but could not get next Fri. off. This was a railroad line in the 1800's when mining was going hot and heavy. This is some real nice country up here, but no way I would live there. I couldn't have picked a better day to go for a spin. The top of the pass, 11,482 ft. I had a great day off. The CB ran perfect as usual and to my amazement it got 52 mpg. I realize most of the way back it was downhill, but I wasn't exactly wasting any time getting back to the city
. The one thing I did on this bike was chucking the original tires and put on a set of Pilot road3's. What a difference.
