last September when I picked up my 2014 std I found this forum and Samurider fairings. I ordered a Road Comet Fairing 1 (style 1) to match my black version. I also asked for the same paint stripe colors and styles as were on the tank. One of Mr. Takashi marketing photos showed one that was exactly what I wanted.
He said it would take 9 months to make and deliver. I got an email from him last week that it was on the way. He beat the estimate by a month.
Today it arrived. While installing it I took advantage of needing to take the headlight out when adding the fairing to add a power pigtail to the capped off red power socket in the headlight nacelle and bring that out the back of the nacelle with the other wire bundles. I had ordered a 6 pack of yetor water proof connectors:

I hooked the female pigtail up to a male terminal connector and snapped it into the unused plug in the nacelle and fished it out the back with the other wires. This unused plug is hooked up to the ignition (I checked with a volt/ohm meter). I plan to hook several thing up on the male plug end. first is just a cap for when I don't want to run anything. second is a cigarette socket for powering my little air compressor for dealing with re-airing a tire after I pull a nail and run in a tire plug. lastly I'll hook up the 3rd male pigtail to the power setup for my Garmin GPS. I'll do that this weekend. This way I can run the GPS on trips that I need it with.
attached are pictures of the female pigtail coming out of the back of the headlight nacelle. then pictures of the various male pigtails that I mentioned above. then photos of Mr. Takashi's Road Comet Fairing 1 attached to the bike.
I'd been riding for the last week as the bike came and at 70+ mph on the freeway, I got fatigued sooner than I'd wanted to from fighting the wind on my torso. I'm hoping this mini fairing will knock some of that off of me to reduce the fatigue. I also like the way it looks on my CB.

they should make it easy to have stuff hooked up or not, depending upon the situation. this weekend I'll be adding a ram ball mount for the GPS. the Ram Ball will stay on the handlebars but everything else (wires, GPS, GPS cradle, etc.) will be, now, really easy to hook up or take off, depending upon the need.
so I'm getting the CB ready for some longer road trips. time in saddle will tell me if the factory seat will suffice or if I'll want to get it reworked by Mr. Ed's Moto in Albany Oregon. I think I'm done with the farkles now. time to go wear out some tires

Great post! That electrical pigtail design is equally creative as it is functional.
I too experienced the same sensation at 70+ mph. The Comet Fairing I installed on my CB1100Ex completely eliminated the extra fatigue. I look forward to hearing that your fairing solved the problem for you, too.
well, I couldn't wait until the weekend.
so here's some photos of the Garmin GPS cradle and wire bundle with that removable pigtail.
also some photos of the how it all goes together.
doesn't look neat at all when hooked up, due to the exposed wire bundle, but it's ok for going on a trip. after all when you get there you can just unhook the power, hook up the blank rtv'd pigtail, and take the Garmin, the cradle and wire bundle, and the short Ram arm with into the hotel. all that leaves is a very hard to spot power pigtail near the steering stem on the RHS of the bike, and the ramball mount on the handle bars.

I am hoping that even that little fairing, and it does look a bit smaller than yours does, is enough to stave off the wind fatigue. Since I just finished it tonight and the rain is settling in for awhile, I'll let you know how that Road Comet Faring 1 does when I can get it out on the freeway again.

By the way, Mr. Takashi did what I consider a great job on that Road Comet Fairing. To my eye, it looks fabulous. all the parts were there to add it to the bike. package came from Japan and it was well padded and wrapped, so it came out of the box undamaged. The gloss black matches the tank exactly and the pin strip looks exactly like the one on the tank in both form and color. there were photo instructions in english and japanese. the only thing I didn't understand when I opened the box I figured out immediately when I went to lower the horns. Then I knew what those 4 flat pieces of steel were used for. other than that it was all pretty straight forward. took me about 2 hours, but I was also adding that power pigtail so it would likely take others less time if all they were doing was installing the fairing. So a shout out to Samurider for a great looking fairing that didn't have me creating new and interesting words when I was installing it.

Just for info, Mr. T does not make things. He sells them. Chic Design makes Road Comets.
Back in the day Mr. T moved his shop next to the airport so he could ship faster. That is one reason they get here so fast. He gets the item, packs it for shipping and goes to the airport and 14 or so hours later it is in NY City (in my Case). When I ordered my RC1 the wait time was about 2 months IIRC. Thats is when they were making a lot of them.
Fun fact? Mine arrived in NYC and sat in customs for a week or so. Then they sent it back to Mr. T. Turns out the address label came off. He reshipped and I had it in a day or two. He changed the way the labels worked after that! I have a well travelled Road Comet
Thanks Lord Popgun for the clarification. I thought Mr. Takashi was the one who made them. Mine went to Chicago and it took about 5 days to clear customs.

had the bike up to 65 today. definitely less wind blast on the torso. instead of wind on the whole torso, now only wind from about the armpits up. definitely less fatiguing for longer travels. Not as nice as a full touring machine, but better than a naked bike so it's a good compromise.

when I'm not running either the GPS or the cigarette socket for a power source for the tire pump, I simply run a blank plug to seal up the connector. I took one of the six male connectors and clipped the pigtail off of it and smeared the end with RTV so nothing would get shorted. so it's a waterproof connector just to keep the female pin sockets from corroding if left unplugged with anything. the blank plug is not noticeable if you're not looking for it.
