...and the report is [url=http://karlvandervelden.com/]here if you'd like to have a gander! The CB1100, I'm happy to report, is a splendid touring platform. But I suppose I'm preaching to the choir, eh?
Wow, that looks like it was a splendid tour!!
Some beautiful country you rode through. I keep skirting it on the way to my mothers house in eastern Washington. Will have to make a concerted effort to get there soon. How did that Scout do? I really like those brown saddle bags. Might have to look into a set of those for my daughters Sportster.
Oh my...that looked like an absolutely stunning ride. Great photos. I wanna go there!
Great report. Im with Ferret, I want to ride there.

My wife absolutely LOVES her Scout. She had the seat reworked at Rich's Custom Seats, which took care of one of her only two complaints with the bike. The other is excessive heat against her right leg from the exhaust...but that's only when stuck in traffic, which thankfully never really happened to us on this trip. As long as she's moving, she's happy. She loves the power and can pretty much keep up with me when we have to pass. One other note - everywhere we went, her Scout grabbed nearly all the attention. I didn't keep detailed notes on it, but for all the folks who expressed an opinion on the bikes along the way, the "I LOVE your bike!!" stuff was roughly 70% Scout, 25% CB, 5% Anna's Harley. Smile The bags might be tough to fit on a Sportster...if you ever run across a Scout with Indian OEM bags, have a look at the mounting arrangement and you'll see what I mean. Who knows, though, it may be possible...
Beautiful, beautiful pictures Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
In 2010 I did a motorcycle tour from Vancouver through the Canadian Rockies including Jasper and Banff national parks. Many of the pictures were very familiar to me.
It was the ride of a lifetime in beautiful sunny weather except for a shower on the first and last days. The mountains are stunning and it couldn't have been more perfect.
In 2008 I did a three week motorcycle tour through the deserts and Andes Mountains of Chile and Peru.
The Andes are great too, but much of the time we were up high looking down.
In the Rockies much of the time you're in valleys looking up at the towering peaks which I liked better.
Agree with Rocky. That scenery is unforgettable. In '87 I quit my job and followed the Rockies from Colorado up to Banff and Jasper, then west to the coast. Best bike road trip I ever took. Great pics!
I'm with those who haven't been and want to go. Stunning kvdv. Thanks.
