well below that which seems to be a heat wave

remember california has mountains which reach to over 14000 feet

not unusual for tioga pass which is about 9900 feet to get completely snowed over in june

I'll be darned. Never thought about California being cold lol

Kinda beat you all. I was in Antarctica in February this year. 'Rode' around in an open sled towed by a tractor at ~20mph. It was -26 outside, with wind-chill I don't know what it calculated at.

-26 Celsius or good old Fahrenheit? Makes a big difference; if C, that is a hot spell for that locale. Gets colder than that in the midwest.

Up to 70 degrees F of frost and more are not unknown in the Yukon. Spittle freezes solid before it hits the ground.

70 degrees of frost is -38F or -39C.
