Here in the midwest good riding weather usually starts shutting down about mid October. This year has been quite extraordinary in that although we have had some very cold days, we have also had an abundance of very warm days. record breakers.

This week has been exceptional and I was able to ride 149 miles Wednesday, 141 miles yesterday, and today November 18th we got up to 76 degrees but I was stuck watching grandkids until 4:30 PM. Would have been another great day to rack up some miles. It is very dark by 6 PM these days, so as soon as the kids left I had the CB fired up, threw on a leather jacket, gloves and helmet and squirted out the driveway.

Headed for my favorite loop..222-743 (My road)- Laurel Moscow Rd,-756,-232,-222. As fun a loop as I can imagine... 36 miles with lots of curves, elevation changes, very little traffic, and 55 mph speed limits, plus it starts 7/10 ths of a mile from my garage door.

The low setting sun was casting some long shadows, but just lit up the trees surrounding the newly picked farm fields

Near the end of the loop it was starting to get dark, as the sun had dipped below the treeline

What a great way to spend a mid November evening

Excellent post, Mickey! I was stuck inside today but glad to see someone make good use of the weather.

That's some lovely tarmac, especially for late-November. Our roads are now ice- and snow-packed. I got all the bikes out last weekend, topped them off with Stabil, and plugged them in. Hopefully I'll be able to wake them up soon.

Saw that on the news last night LR. Looks nasty. Know it will also be here eventually so have to take advantage of every day that the roads are clear and dry.

Great that you're still getting out
Up here in the "far east" we're also getting some unusually mild days and many bikes are still out on the roads.
Come early November I pack it in for the season and patiently wait for April.
I will admit that some of those mild days really tugged at me, but I resisted. It's a bit of a chore to store my bikes so it's just not worth the bother to reverse the process and then to only have to do it again.

I actually thought about you while I was riding last evening Rocky. I remembered that you had already put your bikes away, and thought what a shame it was that you couldn't take advantage of these bonus day. You should probably have one inexpensive " rat bike" that you don't really care about that you could leave out and ride on the rare nice fall, winter and spring days.

Well Cormanus, you probably would envy us today. 37 degrees and snow flurries. I only got in 32 miles. What a difference a day makes.
