All dressed up and ready to go!
Rode down to St. George to visit my mom. I avoided I-15 and took state highways through central Utah. There have been a number of brush fires so far this year, and it will likely get worse. I saw an awful lot of country which looks like the picture below.
That photo aside, I think you live in one of the prettiest states in the US!

Thanks, LR. Western CO is just on the other side of the mountains, and has a lot of beautiful places. I'm not so much of a fan of eastern CO, it's like western Utah toward the Nevada border. But definitely the Rocky Mountains are breathtaking, no matter which side you're on.
Bike is looking good there Roper. Dry landscape doesn't look so good. We've had the opposite. Rain, rain, rain...oh and heat. Like a sauna here.

Agreed. Riding through Utah remains my favourite motorcycle adventure to date.

That arid landscape looks all too familiar.
I have lost track of how many wildfires we have had in Colorado this summer with the hot and dry conditions. But the wife and I took our Jeep over Guanella pass Friday and it couldn't have been more green and beautiful.
Guanella's fabulous now that it's been paved all the way to Grant. Cottonwood Pass is now paved all the way, too.
Looks just like your average Aussie backyard during summer ... but maybe a tad bigger than most.
I'm guessing you might not have packed any wet weather gear for your trip.
