Learn something. See people. Never boring. Wonderful MTC.
I think GO means "Wonderful, MTC". Otherwise Cheryl should be on the lookout.

Great yarn as always, EmptySea. I hope you're able to solve the mystery as I'd now like to know the answer.
Great trip report MTC.
You stated “We discussed favorite songs to listen to when we ride. I think it was activedirt that offered up "Last Date" by Floyd Cramer. It does not fit the stereotypical image of a biker song, that's for sure. I was listening to an equally ambient piece most of the week, "Chase the Clouds Away" by Chuck Mangione. I cannot recall InhouseBob's or suhawk's pick (unless suhawk was "Last Date").”
It must been InhouseBob and/or activedirt that shared their riding music choices. It wasn’t me. I never listen to music while riding.
I had a great time riding with everyone during the rally!

As I think of it, and I could be wrong, I think we talking about what songs would make a good soundtrack to a ride video or slideshow. I know Bob had some input on this and yes, it was activedirt that came up with "Last Date" .

Thanks for the mention of Chuck Mangione, EmptySea. I had a listen this morning. Great track. I was always a fan of The Land of Make Believe. Esther Satterfield has an amazing voice.
I just got back to reading your thread, MTC, and I feel privileged to be a part of your adventures.
Songs... I do think it was Activedirt (who I call Dirt for no apparent reason) who suggested "Last Date." He's just mellow thataway.
My favorite riding song is also an oldie. From 1965, it's "No Matter What Shape (Your Stomach's In)" by the T-Bones. A one-hit wonder if there ever was one.

What can I say. It is a groove that suits the CB's vibe perfectly. If I ever make a ride video, this will be the soundtrack.

That was fun. Sounds very "Californ'ish" with a slight foaming surf undertone.

Apparently charted as high as #3 in the U.S. (1966).
Added “No Matter What Shape..” to my Spotify playlist. There are at least 4 versions of the song on Spotify including one with some lyrics and one with a Latin beat. Super-interesting song history here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Matte...ch%27s_In)

Here is what it was originally written for. It is a little different from the hit version.

You will notice a couple of race walkers at about 18 seconds in. I know them both. It's a small, strange world Tongue
