Yes ladies and gents, you read right... I dropped my CB1100 today Sad

I wonder if I am the first to drop one here in the states.

Anyway, I was about to round a little corner from my buddies parking area in his apartment complex and I saw a car pulling up. I wasn't going fast at all, but I grabbed the front brake too hard and quick and went down to the left. I felt stupid but eh, "it's not if you drop it, it's when you drop it" right??? I've had a few close calls before, now that I actually did it hopefully I won't make the same mistake twice.

I'll post some pics of the damage later.
The left mirror got scratched,
the clutch lever is scratched at the end
the left rear turn signal is cracked,
AND....the crankcase cover... the Honda etching is scratched as well as the bottom part of the cover is scratched.

Other than this, I had a pretty awesome day riding. Rode up Palomar twice and went down the 76 to the 78. When I got home, I realized I forgot my apartment key and the rest of the family was out. So I met up with my cousin and we rode De Luz road from Temcula to Fallbrook.
I put almost 200 miles on her today, and almost got 49 mpg.
Suckin.
Dodgy Meh, I dropped mine in a gravel parking lot a couple of weeks ago...it happens.
Here's the damage, not too bad

I'll be ordering some Big Grin better to be safe than even MORE sorry haha.
That's surely a bummer, but in this case, as they say, it coulda been a lot worse. Those are all pretty easily replaced parts. You'll have her looking like new in no time!
First off, it's good to know that you're okay.

I could have actually imagined that the damage would have been worse although I'm sure that it seems like more than enough at this point.

And yes, as much as I'd like to convince myself otherwise, I do never doubt that, as you say, "it's not if you drop it, it's when you drop it".
BUMMER! Argghhh

I almost dropped mine the other day in very similar circumstances but managed to jerk it back up. My right lat muscle only hurt for 1 day ha ha.

If you get the little rubber ball end covers it will cover up the scratches on your lever
To bad, I once had my new SV650 fall over in a van the day I took it
home in winter and broke the shift lever off and did not have a mile on the bikeUndecided
