Blessed Mother of Acceleration, they reopened the freeway this morning!

They determined that the damage to the roadway wasn't as bad as initially thought, and they can repair the supports under the bridge while the freeway is in use.
It's an early Christmas Miracle! Just last night, on the way home from the museum, I stopped for coffee at the Bike Shed, which is near the closure, and everyone was toasting to "Tuesday", which is when the city determined that the freeway might reopen.
That is good, Gone.

I was getting concerned for a moment:

Pallets: 1

vs.

Freeway Overpass: 0
Went to the L.A. Auto Show with some friends last night and drove over the reopened section of freeway.
The city is certainly patting itself on the back... all of the digital message boards along the freeways say "10 Repaired In Days, Not Weeks. Thank You For Your Patience!"

Speaking of pallets, I never noticed, but in that area of the city which is purely industrial, there are mountains of wooden pallets stored in yards. At least I have my direct route back to work on the weekends.

Drama done. Congratulations, Gone.
