Has anyone done this mod and how difficult is it to do? Do you have to splice wires, or are they done with connectors?
I want to instal a set of bags that require this move. Thinking of using this kit.

I really don't like the idea of moving mine back to the license plate bracket, but I would like to have the room for my soft luggage. Its a dilemma I tell you.
My friend and I relocated the turn signals on my CB a couple weeks ago, I've been meaning to post pics but keep forgetting. We didn't even bother using the bracket I had for it, we just removed the reflectors from the sides of the license plate bracket and bored out the holes a hair. We could not find an easy way to run the wiring under the fender, so it comes out the back of the seat and into the housing for the tail-light, then down again. You can't see the wiring at the top at all when the seat is on the bike.
We soldered the wires, which is usually a much safer bet than just splicing but good connectors would probably be fine too. The ones that came with my new turn signals weren't very useful though, you would probably want to invest in something else if that was what you were going to do.
Oh, and this was done with new, smaller bullet signals not the original stock. I don't know that you would have enough wire or that the license plate bracket would be a good spot for the stock signals as the ones installed are *significantly* smaller and lighter than stock.

To disconnect the read turn signals it looks like you first need to remove the grab rails. How did you remove the rear bolt for the grab rails? Maybe a longer socket or a wrench with a circular end? thx

To disconnect the grab rails, all you need is an allen wrench. I believe the rear may be longer, but I'm not sure off the top of my head. It took a bit of effort to break them free the first time, but there was no special trick to it.
Do be careful when you get the rear bolt free though, as there is a nut that will drop out and go rolling away if you aren't watching for it. If you have any problems getting the rear bolt out after you break it free, you can just reach up behind and hold the nut steady, no additional tool should be required. The nut for the front bolts are attached to the grab rail so they can't drop out, so no worries there.
