Im looking at the the Maier gp sport faring for my cb. the price is much more affordable then the bikini faring from japan by about $400.00. Has anyone had any luck with this product?
Certainly inexpensive at $113. Here are some spec's:
Maier GP Sport / Cafe Fairing
These Cafe / Sport fairing kits come with universal mounting hardware to fit most bikes with 7/8" handlebars. The fairing body is made of high-impact paintable black ABS plastic while the shield is made of smoke color acrylic. Complete kit includes fairing, smoke windshield and hardware.
Features:
ABS fairing bodies are an easily painted gloss black finish
Acrylic windscreens are smoke tint
Complete with windscreen and economy mounting kit
Small Round - 17 1/2"H x 13 1/2"W x 8"D with 7" diameter headlight hole
Large Rectangle - 18"H x 15"W x 10"D with 7 5/8" x 5 3/4" headlight hole
Large Round - 18.5"H x 14"W x 3.75"D with 7" diameter headlight hole
These fairings have been around for a very long time and are sold under various names via loads of vendors for as low as $79. I picked one up used a number of years ago for a Bonneville. I took it off after one day. It now adorns my garage. They are generic/ universal and the fittings are rudimentary. They can certainly be fiddled with and strengthened through additional bracing, and painted to match the bike. But IMHO, they are best suited for a cheap and cheerful Cafe conversion of an old CB350 or the like. The CB11 is finished at a level, again IMHO, that would make this fairing stand out, not in a great way. But your ingenuity and results may vary, it's a relatively inexpensive experiment, and you could always sell it on eBay.
Yep looks just like the Emgo Viper that I saw on a members CB1100 blog...

thanks guys, I appreciate the candor and measurements. I thank I'll give it a whirl. I'll post a pic if I can get it to stay on long enough. it should be interesting with my custom paint scheme.
