Takashi sent me a small box of goodies. The shipping label shows the box shipping at 5:45 am Eastern Time (6:45 pm Japanese time) on Thursday. Less than 57 hours later it was in my hands and 10 minutes later it was unpacked:



Contents are:

Daytona red oil filler cap
Honda chrome bar ends
U-Kanaya 177mm levers - in red of course
SP Takegawa Adjustable Step Kit - replacing the too-low Buell footpegs
Honda rear turn signals

The rear turn signals come with the hardware shown. Typical of Honda, every piece came in it's own bag with a Honda part number label.

I'll need to take the Honda rear carrier off my bike and pray that I can figure out how to mount the signals. As Takashi said, the Japanese verisions are not a bolt on kit.

I'll start the install of these bits and pieces tomorrow.

Those levers are the cats meow...not sure how you are going to get the little rubber lever end covers on them though lol

The pegs are cool too!

UPDATE:

Installed everything but the turn signals. Levers were a breeze, but I had to modify the SP Takegawa pegs by filing off a tiny roll-pin attached to the pegs. That pin works if the pegs are set higher, forward, or backward but not lower. I also had to add a washer as a spacer to make the lower position work.

Good news and not so good news on the Japanese rear turn signals. The good news is that it's literally a snap to connect them. There's a bundle of snap type connectors in the battery compartment. Disconnect the US signal, snap in the Japanese signal. You're done.

The not so good news is that the grab bar needs a minor modification to accomodate the signals. You can see this in the photo. It's probably a 10 minute job to open up that notch area. Otherwise mounting the signal to the grab bar is as simple as using the supplied nut and washer to tighten things down.

Ferret - the levers work fine, really not much difference from the factory levers (except you can't put the little back rubber lever covers on them).

The CB1100 is engineered so well, it's hard to find aftermarket replacement parts that work a whole lot better than stock parts -with the exception of the seat, exhaust and suspension components.

Most of the pieces I've replaced on my bike - panels, covers, etc were done for cosmetic purposes and not to improve function. Some parts, like my mirrors, may look better but not fuction quite as well.
