I was curious about the ventura bike pack system for the cb1100. Does it come in black only or can you get it in chrome? Also would like to see some pictures of it with the sport rack installed without a bag. Also pictures of it with grab handle from side and rear. And pictures of it with the L-brackets without grab handle from side and rear. I need a luggage rack but would like to easily remove it leaving only minimal hardware so as not to distract from the beauty of the bike. Thanks.

Fred, I can't help you as I have Givi top box on my CB1100, but I've wondered from time to time whether, if I were doing it again, I'd consider the Ventura gear. Although the rack is a bit unsightly, it's pretty damned practical and you can carry a fair bit of gear in it. Makes lots of sense for touring.
I've only been on this forum for a few months, but I've not seen any mention of the Ventura gear.
Cheers

Interesting. I have been carefully following the various luggage threads on the forum as, when I do tour, I like to camp out, so take a heap of kit. Tent, spirit stove, food, rum, wet gear, three legged camp stool, puncture kit, sleeping bag etc etc. I put most of it in a 60ltr cargo bag, two Oxford saddle bags over that (keeps the rear indicators visible), and then strap other bits on top. Consequently my CB would look at home in Indonesia, or Thailand. See below.

So this is another thread I will follow with interest. Grounded for three months so I have enough research time.
