I finally gave up on the plexi 2 and ordered the Comet fairing with touring screen. I wrote an earlier post about not liking the amount of wind noise the plexi 2 caused around my helmet. I have to say that for me, the Comet fairing is what I was looking for. I took it on about a 70 mile ride including about 10 miles of 70+ mph interstate roads. While it doesn't turn it into a Goldwing for touring purposes, it made for a much more comfortable ride with out the wind buffeting I was getting with the Plexi. For me it is just what I was looking for.
If anyone wants to try the Plexi 2 I will be putting it up for sale. Maybe it will work for shorter riders, but for my 6'ft 2" size it seemed to be just the wrong height.
Pic of new set up please!
ditto on the pics.
I have the standard Road Comet screen. Gone is the wind noise from a Puig Plus.
Gone is some of the wind protection too - how does the Comet w/ touring screen compare to the Plexi's wind protection?
And did you order the screen seperately or with the cowl?
Unfortunately the pics will have to wait as I won't be home for a couple days. As far as wind protection the plexi definitely offers more coverage. You can see it visually that its wider and taller, but for me the comet seems to take away most of the wind up to about the top of my shoulders but leaves my helmet pretty much the same air stream as you would feel with the naked bike.
The installation was quick and easy (even though the instructions are in japanese). And the best part is it really looks good on the bike! I really can't answer the which model question, I bought mine through samurider and its the same version as I have seen on past threads. They allow you to buy with the optional touring screen, so I don't have the standard screen. You do have to bolt the screen on to the fairing but it is an easy process.

Gentlemen,
You can order a Comet painted (white, black, red, blue, or silver) or unpainted, stripe or no stripe, standard or touring screen, tinted or clear screen. Every combo has a different price.

First try at posting a photo.
Now I need some matching side covers and I will be done. (well maybe a K & H tall seat at some point, already waffling)
Charlie, Could I bother you for a measurement from the keyhole to the top of the screen
Side covers will look good on there.

It's 11 inches from keyhole to top of screen. The last inch or so curls up to a steeper angle which probably helps air flow also.
